June 2006 Email Update

Dear Praying Friends:

Most folks knew I have been very ill with typhoid fever for four weeks now (May 6-present). But here is the good news.

On May 8 during my first IV, I was at my doctor’s house in his guest room from 4pm to 11pm. He told me, you cannot be alone tonight. You are staying here or going home with my nurse Erika. I opted to go home with his nurse. My wonderful friend, brother in the Lord and doctor, Dr. Silva, left his wife, picked up his nurse and drove us both to my house at 12 MN.

His nurse spent the night with me, monitoring my IV and giving my IV medications. The next morning as a thank you I gave her a CD that has an explanation of who Jesus is along with Spanish songs in them.

Eighteen days later while I was sitting in my doctor’s waiting room for my follow up visit his nurse told me, Angie, I have not stopped listening to the CD that you gave me. All the songs really touched my heart. I prayed the prayer at the end of the CD. I was blown away!!!! Halleluiah!!!! The Lord used my illness to save one soul! He is God and He does all things well! I will start a weekly Bible study with Erika at my doctor’s office to disciple her as soon as I have my energy back.

Isn’t God great? Was four weeks (maybe more) of illness worth it all to save one soul? You bet! PTL!

I am doing better but still have fatigue, profuse sweating and evening temperatures of 38 C. My doctor is doing more tests to find out if there is anything more that he is missing. Please continue to pray for complete recovery.
