March 2005 Email Update

Dear Crossroads Family:

Greetings from Cuernavaca (city),Morelos, (state) Mexico!  I flew to Cuernavaca from Hermosillo on Feb. 15 to start my intensive Spanish classes.

Three days after I got to this beautiful city I got infected with salmonella. What a horrible experience!  I was on bed for five consecutive days sick as a dog with fever, stomach ache, chills, generalized body aches, cough, colds and severe headaches.  I had an IV on my right hand and on occasion was giving IV injections to myself.

Through it all I kept thinking of one verse that the Lord gave me before I left the US last year. It is the verse in Acts 18 where He promised me, "I will be with you for I have many people in this city". Truly, the Lord is faithful in taking care of his children.  The family I was living with barely know me as I have not even been in their house for a week and here I am lying on bed very sick.  They took care of me, called the doctor and provided me medicines, food and water.

PTL, I am better and back to school.

Please pray for good health, wisdom on what food to eat and where and great ability to be fluent in Spanish.
